Description:

Ikzéul is a derived form of zeul, eye, but deserves its own entry because of its very particular usage. Its very literal meaning is something like 'uneye' and it's a word having to do with blinding. It's also a curse word in Common with a significant social taboo in polite company, belonging to the set of violence-based curses.

In Common, ikzéul formed the basis for a whole set of vocabulary having to do with deliberately blinding people, as part of torture or as gruesome acts of retribution or intimidation. In modern High Common, people don't want to think about such acts and referring to them directly has become taboo and profane.

For polite ways to talk about blindness, such as medical or accidental blindness, forms based on 'ikytríju' would be used.

All of the forms of ikzéul can be used directly without any grammatical accompaniment as curse words. They are considered very rude, and the whole gamut of options is used, along with phrases like 'te ikzéul we', 'blind me'. The options are limited to the creativity of the speaker. 'Active' forms, like 'ikzéulwala' or 'ikzéulca' come across the strongest. 

The modifier forms 'ikzéulys', 'blind/blinding', 'ikzéulcas', 'blinding' or 'ikzéulkas', 'blinded' can all be used as generalised slurs on virtually anyone out anything, much like 'fucking' in English.

Verb: 

As a verb, 'ikzéul' is a transitive skurun verb meaning to deliberately and violently blind someone. It can be used in metaphorically in senses like being blinded to a fact by someone's deceit, or being blinded by a bright light, but such usages are strong and rude. It takes an ergative person or implement causing the blinding and an absolutive person or specific eye being blinded. 

Noun: 

On its own, 'ikzéul' refers to the act of deliberately injuring or removing a human eye with intent to blind the person as an act of torture, and often as an act of retribution or intimidation, possibly directed against a third party. There are many derived forms in use. 

• ikzéulca: Someone who blinds someone, on an implement for blinding. 
• ikzéulwala: specifically an implement designed expressly to injure or remove the eye. 
• ikzéulka: a person who is to be our has been blinded in this fashion. 

Modifier:

The derived modifier forms have to do with blinding in this fashion.

• ikzéulys: a general and ambiguous expression with a sense like blinding or blinded, when not simply used as an expletive or generalised slur. It can also have a sense like vicious or cruel. 
• ikzéulkas: blinded. It can have a sense like ignorant, but its use in this sense is very strong, insulting or shocking.
• ikzéulcas: blinding. When used to describe a person is a strong way of saying that person is vicious, cruel and dangerous. If applied to something like a bright light, it's a very strong way to make that point.
