Forms: | meter, meterca, meterwala, meterka |

Description:
The word 'meter' was borrowed into Common to translate the SI unit of length the metre. Its use predates the early modern AXZ reforms, but the AXZ confirmed this as part of the modern language.
Somewhat annoying from a scientific perspective, however, 'meter' is also used a popular general word for 'measure' or especially 'rate' in a very general sense, a meaning it may have picked up from English. The AXZ tried to stamp it out, notably without success, as this particular usage is also common in modern scientific literature.
Noun:
In a noun context, 'meter' is the SI unit and can also refer to a measurement or measuring device. These senses can be clarified with meterka or meterca, respectively. Somewhat unexpectedly, meterka tends to refer to the measurement, not the thing being measured. Meter can also have the sense of 'rate'.
Verb:
In a verb context, 'meter' is a transitive skurun verb taking an ergative agent or device performing a measurement, an absolutive quantity measured. The thing being measured can be specified by making it the nominative possessor of the measurement. Example:
Jer teo meter a sutta na kaje.
We measured the length of the road.
