Description:
The term 'kaffe' means 'coffee'. It is presumably borrowed from English, but a word like this appears in so many global languages it is impossible to know, and the absolute origin is not attested. Kaffe supplanted the native Old Common word 'poruty' which referred to a hot beverage in the Hillbillies screenshow and which was translated as coffee. Poruty fell out of use by the middle period and was completely replaced by kaffe, which is attested from early in the early period.
As a modifier, 'kaffes' is used as a colour word for a shade of deep brown.
